Gold Mining

Gold mining is a global industry with operations on every continent except Antarctica, and gold is extracted from mines of widely varying types and scale, from artisanal (small-scale) production to major production. Besides these sources of gold ore, an important source of gold ore includes mining tailings and other secondary sources which can be re-processed. Our company has expertise in multiple mining and production modalities including artisanal mining, tailing re-processing, and industrial mining, allowing us to access a wide range of opportunities.

In Mauritania, an artisanal mining boom has been underway for the past several years, and our company is a leading partner to thousands of artisanal miners as a leading gold tailings re-processor. Additionally, our company provides artisanal miners with technological services and infrastructural support to increase the productivity and safety of their operation, as a trusted partner.

Gold Exploration

As a full-fledged minerals exploration company, AK Corporation holds a number of small-scale and large-scale gold exploration permits in Mauritania where it conducts exploration. We own and operate a full range of exploration equipment and infrastructure including ground geo-phyical prospecting, geo-physical and geo-chemical data collection and analysis, exploratory drilling, and assay and metallurgical testing with extensive in-house laboratory facilities.

We own extensive equipment including core drilling, RC drilling, geophysical prospecting equipment, sample preparation and high-tech laboratory equipment including fire assay and atomic absorption spectrometer (AAS). Our team has extensive geological and exploration experience across the African continent.

Gold Processing and Production

AK Corporation is a leading gold processor in Mauritania, with two operating CIL (Carbon in leach) gold processing plants with a combined capacity of over 500 tons per day, located in the Chami and Zouerat regions of Mauritania. We have been operating these gold processing plants since 2020, with a collective gold production of over 550 kilograms since inception.

Our unique approach is specializing in cyanide-free gold production, through technologies that our company has specially developed through its R&D as well as partnerships with leading technology firms globally. This allows our gold to be highly environmentally sound. In addition, we specialize in highly capital-efficient production models that are modular and able to be scaled with a modest infrastructural footprint. Unlike many of our competitors, we have our own in-house processing plant technical designs, and have in-house teams specializing in systems design, sourcing, and implementation of the entire processing plant from civil infrastructure all the way to final system integration and commissioning. This allows us to implement projects in a time-efficient and cost-efficient manner.
